Use your iPod as a Mini Digital Portfolio!
Posted by David
Put you iPod touch to work for you as an ultra portable digital portfolio! (I’m using the example of a iPod touch here, but I’m pretty certain you can do the same thing on the iPhone.)
Make your illustration Pod sized
First to make a digital copy of you illustration for your iPod, convert your illustration to RGB if it isn’t already. Next you will probably need to scale the illustration down. Keep in mind that the touch display is 480-by-320 pixels at 163 ppi resolution. Once your illustration is scaled down, save it as a jpeg (preferably web-safe) in a new folder. Name the folder iPod illustrations, and save it where you will be able to easily find it later.
Import Your Illustration to iPhoto
Next open iPhoto. From the top menu choose File - Add to Library, then locate the folder you just made. Select your illustration, and click Import. Your illustration should now be in iPhoto. Create a new album called your name illustrations, and drag your newly uploaded illustration into it.
Uploading to your iPod
Connect your iPod touch to your computer. Once iTunes opens, select your iPod in the side menu then and select Photos. In the list of photo albums check the new album you just made in iPhoto. Sync your iPod, and your new mini-digital portfolio should be ready to go! On your iPod this new album will be located along with your other Photos. You will be able to view thumbnails of all your illustrations, and the full size images can be played in a slide show!
The full size image on the iPod vs. the blogger version.
Now you will always have samples of your fantastic work on hand, because you never know who you will bump into!
Please note: Some of the steps may be different than I have outlined depending on your software, and OS version.
